Cooling System Service:
Cooling systems are better and more different now than cars built in the 80’s and 90’s. The average replacement is done at 75K. Climate changes and severe driving conditions could cause the need for replacement earlier. Always choose factory recommended coolant, do not mix coolants. Original coolant will add life to the exchange. Have your car routinely serviced; our technicians will check your coolant as part of our 35 pt courtesy check with your oil change.
Oil Changes:
Routine service is critical to having your vehicle visually inspected with your oil change. Average recommended oil change is every 3,000 – 5,000 miles. Cars using a synthetic oil are changed every 7,500 – 10,000 miles. Elder Auto offers a 35 pt courtesy check with every oil change service to help you keep on your vehicle’s routine maintenance.
Tire and Wheel Balancing:
The average tire life on most vehicles is 30K – 40K. Proper inflation and rotations done every 5,000 miles, as well as filling the tires with nitrogen, can add to the life of the tires and save you money. Balancing should only be needed if you have a vibration or you dismount your tires. We have many sources for tires that includes free road hazard and nitrogen refills. In addition to purchasing tires with us we offer free rotation for the life of the tires. An alignment is also recommended when installing a new set of tires.
Clutch Repair:
Clutch life on most vehicles is 100K. Common symptoms of clutch failure are a slipping condition or what feels like no power in higher gears like 3rd to 5th gear. If your clutch pedal falls to the floor, your clutch could be fine. Instead you have a hydraulic problem (fluid), which is easier and usually less expensive than a total clutch replacement. Contact our service advisors for a free estimate to help determine the exact problem with your clutch
Battery Charging Systems:
Average life on most batteries is 5 – 7 years. Symptoms are no start or very slow crank. A battery indicator light means you have a charging system issue, not a battery problem. Routine services will provide battery and cable maintenance. We carry Interstate Batteries with various warranties.
